Giving Tuesday – Flight Ministries

Hey everyone! As most of you know, today is #givingtuesday. What is giving Tuesday you ask? It is a day to donate money, supplies, or time to a local charity or business.

This giving Tuesday, we ask that you keep flight ministries in mind. We are a non profit business that helps the community grow by investing in the lives of children and teenagers. We have had tons of people donate anything from basketballs to school supplies and of course cash and checks.

At flight ministries, here are a few things your donation will go to…

* Gym time

* Food for kids who can’t eat at home

* Basketballs

* Events for the youth

* Tournaments

* Uniforms

* Marketing

* And much more….

There is nothing more important to us than teaching the youth of today the amazing things that God can do for there life! We greatly appreciate any type of donation! We know that the kingdom of God works in many ways so we pray that we can work with everyone to help the kingdom grow! For giving information please email flightministries@yahoo.com or for any other questions, feel free to comment below!

Thank y’all and have a blessed #givingtuesday !

What Is Your Missing Piece?

Through the years I have met many people. People from different walks of life, ages, and direction. Working with others for a living, mentoring and guiding them through life’s many obstacles you start to notice similarities. We are all searching for purpose. For the mast majority, their purpose is to make millions of dollars and be rich. Being rich has a facade that if you have money you are happy. That is why most want to achieve that as their purpose. Some chose the purpose of a brilliant career filled with a series of moves to get them at a certain status. With the countless possibilities of what your purpose is there is a common denominator. The missing piece!

What’s the missing piece? Whether you are in the process of chasing your purpose or you have successfully conquered it I always ask this question:

Is there something more? Do you feel like there is still something missing from your life?

In almost every case the answer is yes! I would like to provide a solution to that missing piece. His name is Jesus! We were all created in the image of God and deep within us is a longing to be near to Him. We often try to fulfill those yearnings in our spirit with material possessions, achievements, and conquered dreams but without Jesus, it’s never going to be enough. He is the hope within our souls that tells us we are made for much more than just this life. His love covers all our mistakes, faults, and failures so that we can live free from shame. His comfort holds us close when the pain of this life becomes too much to bear. See Jesus is that missing piece that brings completion to our life and truly gives us the purpose we were meant for!

Job 42:1-6 “I’m convinced: You can do anything and everything. Nothing and no one can upset your plans. You asked, ‘Who is this muddying the waters, ignorantly confusing the issue, second/guessing my purpose?’ I admit it. I was the one. I babbled on about things far beyond me, made small talk about wonders way over my head. You told me, ‘Listen and let me do the talking. Let me ask the questions. You give the answers.’ I admit I once lived by rumors of you; now I have it all firsthand-from my own eyes and ears! I’m sorry-forgive me. I’ll never do that again, I promise! I’ll never again live on crusts of hearsay, crumbs of rumor.”

I challenge you today to open up to God and let him into your heart. Let him give you the answers you’re looking for, the missing piece of your life!

Tip #16 Rotate

Playing defense in basketball is a lost art. The majority focus is and will forever be on scoring the ball. Their are players in the NBA right not that the only reason they are there is because of Defense.

Rotating on defense is a normal part of every possession. The key is knowing your opponent and their tendencies. Some players are shooters and others who love to attack. This information is so valuable because it dictates how you rotate.

  • Shooters can’t have any space. You stick to them like your life depended on it.
  • Players who attack the basket require a total team effort. It takes every defender being on point with their rotations.
  • If the player is not a threat still remember they are on the floor for a reason, don’t fall asleep and let them split past you for a easy bucket.
